Pick Rose Bowl Preview

Rose Bowl Picks and Preview

No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers (11-1) vs. No. 3 TCU Horned Frogs (12-0)

NCAAF Football Point Spread: TCU -2.5 O/U 58.5

By: Barrett Kazmerzack of Coopers Pick CALL NOW 1-888-730-COOP

TCU ended the regular season undefeated for the second straight season,
but they were left of the BCS title game again because they are not in a BCS
conference. That is why the Horned Frogs will be playing in the Big East, yeah
that makes sense being from Texas, starting in 2012. Still, they are in the BCS
Rose Bowl and their D, which is ranked #1 in the nation will face a stiff test
against a Wisconsin offense that scored at least 70 points in 3 games.

Speaking of dropping 70 points the Badgers did just that in their season finale
beating Northwestern 70-23

Wisconsin and TCU were both 6-5 ATS in the season and while the Horned
Frogs have dominated the Mountain West Conference the past few seasons
they are only 6-9 ATS in their last 15 games against teams that have a winning
record. On top of that they have failed to cover the spread in the last 2 bowl
games they have played.

TCU and their top-ranked defense have one goal in this game and that is to
contain the Badgers and their 12th ranked rushing offense. Wisconsin features
James White (1,061 yards 14 TD), John Clay (936 yards 13 TD) and Montee
Ball (864 yards 17 TD), who can all rack up the yards on the ground. One of the
main reasons the Badgers are so good running the ball is that they have a HUGE
offensive line that has 6 players that made the All Big 10 team. TCU and their 3rd
ranked run D has a tough task in their game and they will have to deal with the
size of the mammoth Badgers’ offensive line.

Wisconsin does not have a great aerial attack, ranking 74th in the nation in pass
offense, but QB Scott Tolzien (2,300 yards 16 TD 6 INT) led the nation with a
74.3% completion percentage. Still, don’t look for him to have a big game against
TCU and their #1 ranked passing defense.

The Horned Frogs offense had the 3rd highest scoring team in the nation
averaging 43.3 points per game. They rank 8th in the nation in rushing offense
and 53rd in passing offense and their big gun is RB Ed Wesley (1,065 yards 11
TD). Wesley is not the only guy who can move the chains on the ground, as he
is joined in the backfield by RB Matthew Tucker (694 yards 7 TD). Wisconsin and
their 30th ranked run defense really has to worry about Wesley, who averaged
6.6 yards per carry on the season.

TCU can also air it out with QB Andy Dalton (2,638 yards 26 TD), who only threw
one INT in his last 4 games and he will be facing a Wisconsin pass defense that
ranks 25th in the nation. Even though he has a legit WR corps if the Badgers can
contain Wesley and force Dalton to beat them they have an advantage.

Pick: Wisconsin has only covered the spread one time in their last 4 non-
conference games and after this game it will be 5. TCU will show they should
have been mentioned in BCS title consideration by winning this game with their
defense and covering the spread.

Hawaii vs UNLV, 34, 65.5

Late Saturday night, the Runnin’ Rebels travel to Hawaii to face the 25th ranked team in the nation. UNLV is 2-10 on the season, while Hawaii is 9-3, but the key statistic to know, is that Hawaii is 10-2 ATS this season, which is by far the best ATS record in the nation. Hawaii has covered their last 6 spreads and 3 of those 6 spreads were 28 points or higher, while on the other side of the ball, UNLV is 0-6 on the road this season and has lost their last 5 games against the spread [and they were underdogs in those games by 24, 19 and 27 points]. When these two teams face off late Saturday night, only one team will be on top of their game.

UNLV is absolutely decimated for this match up with 9 players listed as doubtful and with the Runnin’ Rebels not even playing their upper classman in this game because of the head coach not happy with their performance and wanting to go with youthful talent. UNLV defeated Hawaii last year in Las Vegas by a point, and my analysis shows that Hawaii will be a extremely motivated team at home on this given night. Hawaii will be saying goodbye to 30 seniors in this game and will put a beating on a UNLV team that will already be on vacation by the time this game kicks off. Hawaii has scored 20 more points and given up 16 fewer points per game than UNLV and all of these different numbers will show its head very early in this game. UNLV is 3-13 ATS against the WAC in their last 16 games, while Hawaii 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games. Take a play on the Rainbow Warriors here to lay a thrashing on the Runnin’ Rebels.

Indiana at Purdue: Battle For The Old Oaken Bucket

The Indiana Hoosiers will travel to West Lafayette to face the Purdue Boilermakers for the right to hoist the Old Oaken Bucket. Both teams go into this battle 4-7 and ineligible for any type of bowl action; but to be honest, I think this stipulation makes it a better game. Whether it is the students of the schools or the players on the teams, there is a certain hatred within these two teams that cannot be expressed unless you watch one of the battles for yourself. These two teams could not be more similar; both are 3-3 at home and have each recorded only one road win this season. The trend I like in this game has to be the over because of a few different reasons: Over is 8-3 in Indiana’s last 11 road games and Purdue’s over is 6-1 in their last 7 games as a home favorite of less than a field goal.

Historically, this battle for the Oaken Bucket has been extremely entertaining, but for Indiana, the Hoosiers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 trips to Purdue and have had serious trouble notching wins in the Big 10 in the last two years with only two wins. Purdue has outscored Indiana by 69 total points in their last two meetings and Indiana has only won the Oaken Bucket twice in their last 10 meetings, but this season Purdue is not the usual offensive marvel that put up 62 points against Indiana two years ago. Purdue has only beaten Minnesota and a good Northwestern team this year for two Big 10 wins and was a few seconds away from grasping a huge upset at the hands of Michigan State. Both teams have lost 5 games in a row and something must give when the Indiana Hoosiers travel to Purdue on Saturday for a chance to “steal” the bucket away from the Boilermakers.

Temple at Miami of Ohio

Temple at Miami of Ohio
Tuesday, 7:00 pm Eastern – ESPN 2

Temple will be looking to put last week’s loss to Ohio behind them as they visit Miami of Ohio on Tuesday night. The Owls will not be winning the MAC this college football betting season but they can still get to ten wins on the season if they win this contest and their bowl game. They will be facing a Miami of Ohio team that should also be headed to a bowl game. Miami comes into this contest with seven wins on the season including their last three.

Temple is a 6.5 point favorite at Online Sportsbook SBG Global.

Temple seems to have put the loss to Ohio behind them as they have practiced well leading up to this game. Quarterback Mike Gerardi said the team is positive going into Tuesday’s game. Temple is looking to finish with 10 wins for the first time in 30 years so they are very focused on winning against Miami to get to nine wins. Temple could be without running back Bernard Pierce and linebacker Elijah Joseph as both players were injured in last week’s loss to Ohio.

Miami still has a shot to win the MAC East but they not only need to beat Temple, they need Ohio to lose to Kent State. It could be that neither of those things happens. Ohio is almost certainly going to defeat Kent and Miami could be in trouble in this college football betting game against Temple. The RedHawks are without starting quarterback Zac Dysert and they are simply not the same without him. They won against Akron with backup Austin Boucher but there was a definite difference. If Miami is to keep this game close they will have to play defense and run the ball. That won’t be easy against Temple who has the 14th best defense in the country.

Here are the football betting stats for Tuesday’s game. The Owls are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a road favorite. The Owls are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a game in which they did not cover the spread. The RedHawks are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games in November.

The Over is 5-1 in the Owls last 6 games in November. The Under is 4-1 in the Owls last 5 road games. The Under is 7-3 in the Owls last 10 games overall. The Under is 6-0 in the RedHawks last 6 games overall. The Under is 5-2 in the RedHawks last 7 home games.

College Football Weekend Picks

Courtesy of locknLoad

After 3 weeks in a row finishing in the positive, I had a dreadful day saturday which carried over on sunday losing 3 games in the 4th quarter/overtime (Buffalo, KC, and Phily). Last night, I started off the week strong with a push on Cincy +6, a WIN with the OVER 42 and a WINNER on my 6pt teaser for 20 units, finishing the night 3-1 (+27 units).

Tues Nov 9th College Football:

Northen Illinois will be fired up tonight as they take the field against rival Toledo. The Huskies will be recognizing 21 seniors who are playing their last and final game at Huskie stadium tuesday night. These seniors will be playing every down as it were their last when they take on the Toledo Rockets. QB Chandler Harnish will be looking to extend his current 6 game winning streak where he has thrown at least 2 TD's in each of those games. Northern Illinois ranks 11th in the country rushing and 35th overall offensively. They are equally as good defensively (ranked 39th overall) holding opponents to 15.5 pts/game in the last 5 games. I like No Illinois to dominate here on Senior recognition day, 31-14.

Northern Illinois -11 (20 units)

Toledo/No Illinois UNDER 51 (12 units)

6pt 2 team teaser: (20 units)

No Illinois -5

No Illinois/Toledo UNDER 45

Best of luck to everyone on Tuesday night.

UCF vs Marshall College Football Picks preview

Central Florida at Marshall
Wednesday, 8:00 pm Eastern – ESPN

Conference USA gets the spotlight from ESPN on Wednesday night as Central Florida travels to face Marshall. Central Florida has started well this college football betting season at 3-2 and 1-0 in the conference while Marshall has struggled, going 1-4 and 0-1 in the conference.

Central Florida is a 5.5 -point favorite with a total of 44 at SBG Global.

It has not been a good NCAA football betting season for Marshall under first-year coach Doc Holliday. It may not get any better on Wednesday with Central Florida coming to town. UCF has won the last five meetings against Marshall. They are favored to win again on Wednesday in large part because they have a duel threat quarterback in Jeff Godfrey. Central Florida head coach George O’Leary is comparing his freshman to Michael Vick and Pat White. Godfrey leads Central Florida in rushing with 583 yards. He has also thrown for 531 yards.

Marshall has done very little this season on offense or on defense. They are 102 in the country in points scored and even worse on defense as they rank 108th in points allowed. Despite those rotten numbers, the Thundering Herd are getting some action from bettors as this line has dropped from 6.5 down to 5.

Here are the football betting stats for Wednesday’s game. The Knights are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 conference games. The Knights are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Knights are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite. The Knights are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games in October. The Knights are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a road favorite. The Knights are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings at Marshall.

The Thundering Herd are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Wednesday games. The Thundering Herd are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games as a home underdog.
The Thundering Herd are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Thundering Herd are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games.

The Over is 4-0 in the Knights last 4 conference games. The Under is 5-2-2 in the Knights last 9 games in October. The Under is 8-1 in Marshall’s last 9 games in October. The Over is 4-1 in Marshall’s last 5 games overall. The Under is 6-2 in Marshall’s last 8 home games. The Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between the two teams.

Free Pick ASU vs Washington PAC-10

GAME: Arizona St. @ Washington Oct 9, 2010 10:00PM
SPORT: College Football Picks
PICK: Washington
Offered at: -2.5 live odds

REASON FOR PICK: #64 Take Washington Huskies over Arizona State Sun Devils (Saturday 10 pm FSN) The Sun Devils must make another trip to the Pacific Northwest in consecutive weeks and this will eventually catch up with them. Washington is coming off a big win over USC and I fully expect them to carry that momentum into this Saturday when they return home. This will be ASU’s third long road trip in four weeks, as they have went to Madison, WI, Corvallis, OR, and now must fly to Seattle, WA. Coach Dennis Erickson is on the hot seat and two heartbreaking losses will eventually sink this team. Washington still has QB Jake Locker and he will lead his team to a victory. The Sun Devils are 1-4 (1 push) ATS in their last six road games. The Huskies are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games. Do not forget to sign-up for

Tennessee at Georgia Betting Preview

Tennessee at Georgia, -12, 48

By: Evan Abrams

Coming off one of the most horrendous losses in SEC history, the Volunteers will
be out for blood Saturday in Athens, but will it be enough against A.J. Green and the
Bulldogs?

When I first saw this game on the slate, I was extremely surprised by the spread
for a couple of reasons. When you see a double-digit favorite in the SEC, you really
start to question where Vegas even comes up with some of these spreads. With
Tennessee losing to LSU, in Death Valley, by only two points, makes the average
sports bettor salivate at the opportunity to get Tennessee with the points in a 1-
4 team in Georgia; but I really think people are missing the reasoning behind the
spread and not simply the spread itself.

On the field we have Matt Simms and Aaron Murray facing off in a must win game
for both teams. Tennessee and Georgia go into this game both 0-2 in the conference,
and if they want any type of hopes in a bowl game, this Saturday is their last shot;
going 0-3 in conference is pretty close to digging your own grave. Georgia is 0-4 SU
and ATS since putting a romping on Louisiana-Lafayette a month ago, and just has
not been able to find the right plays late in the game to put them in a position to win.
On Saturday, Georgia couldn’t ask for a better chance to get off the schnide, when
they host Tennessee, who is coming off one of the most embarrassing SEC losses
since the LSU hail mary in 2006 to beat Kentucky [link].

This will be a week of desperate calls by both head coaches and I think in the
end Georgia will prevail, but to say I am happy about laying over 10 points in
a SEC showdown between two teams who have yet to win an SEC game is an
understatement. Take the Bulldogs to beat the Vols, but be wary of the points.

Texas AM vs OSU

Texas A&M at Oklahoma State

Provided by SBG Global

ESPN Thursday Night football betting will get the college football weekend rolling in exciting fashion as Oklahoma State will host Texas A&M. Be sure to check SBG Global.com for the side and total lines on this Big 12 South Division showdown. Kickoff Thursday night is at 7:50 PM Eastern Time.

Both the Texas A&M Aggies and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are entering this matchup undefeated at 3-0 straight up. They are both highly explosive offensive teams that figure to be the top challengers at upsetting either Oklahoma or Texas for the top spot in the Big 12 South. Both teams took last week off in preparation for this one.

Texas A&M has covered the spread in 2 out of 3 games this year with 2 of their college football betting games going over the total. In Mike Sherman’s third year as head coach the program is finally taking shape in his image. The offense ranks 9th in the nation and features exceptional balance. Quarterback Jerrod Johnson has completed 59% of his passes for a 7.9 yards per attempt average with a 7/4 touchdown/interception ratio. He has two top targets in Jeff Fuller and Ryan Swope. Fuller has 18 catches for 280 yards good for a 15.6 yards per catch average and 3 touchdowns. Swope has 21 catches for 202 yards and a 9.6 yards per catch average. The running back tandem of Christine Michael and Cyrus Gray makes the Aggies a complete offensive team. Michael has gained 331 yards and has a 5.8 yards per carry average with 3 touchdowns while Gray has 188 yards and a 4.9 yards per carry average with 2 touchdowns. The defense has shown marked improvement from last year and ranks 10th in the country.

Oklahoma State’s high octane passing attack is rolling right along despite the departure of former star quarterback Zach Robinson. The Cowboys have the top ranked offense in all of college football betting as quarterback Brandon Weeden is completing 73% of his passes for 9.7 yards per attempt and an 11/2 touchdown/interception ratio. Justin Blackmon is the top receiver with 24 catches and 431 yards with an 18.0 yards per catch average and 8 touchdowns. Running back Kendall Hunter provides balance with 473 yards and a super 7.9 yards per carry average with 6 touchdowns. The defense ranks 79th however and will need to tighten up significantly in this one.

College Football Betting Picks

Cincinnati at North Carolina State
Thursday, 7:45 pm Eastern - ESPN

Cincinnati and North Carolina State get the ESPN spotlight on Thursday night and it will be their first-ever meeting. The Bearcats come into this game at 1-1 while the Wolfpack are 2-0. North Carolina State is 2-0 for the first time since 2002 but wins over Central Florida and Western Carolina don’t tell us too much.

NC State is a 2-point favorite with a total of 54.5 at SBG Global.

This is not the same Cincinnati team that was a Big East power. Brian Kelly is in Notre Dame and the Bearcats are just not the same. They lost their opener at Fresno but came back last week to rout Indiana State. Quarterback Zach Collaros had two touchdowns last week through the air and also rushed for one. Darrin Williams had 117 yards on 13 carries.

North Carolina State may be 2-0 but they had only 239 total yards against UCF last week. QB Russell Wilson was awful and the Wolfpack was fortunate to win at all. The defense won the game last week as they forced Central Florida into five turnovers.

Here are the betting stats for Thursday’s game. The Bearcats are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games. The Bearcats are 2-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Bearcats are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Bearcats are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

The Wolfpack are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games in September. The Wolfpack are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 home games. The Wolfpack are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. the Big East.

The Under is 8-1 in the Bearcats last 9 Thursday games. The Over is 4-1 in the Bearcats last 5 games overall. The Under is 5-2 in the Bearcats last 7 non-conference games. The Over is 15-7-1 in the Bearcats last 23 road college football betting games. The Over is 11-2 in the Wolfpack’s last 13 games overall. The Over is 18-7-1 in the Wolfpack’s last 26 home games. The Under is 10-4-2 in the Wolfpack’s last 16 non-conference games.

Free College Football Pick

JR ODonnell | CFB Side
Free pick 161 Texas -29.5 (-110) SportBet vs 162 Rice
Analysis:

"Jr O" is not afraid to "Lay the Wood" Week 1 as Texas - 29.5 will take the Rice Owls behind the woodshed and pound as "Jr O" never lays that many points except when a blow out is in the making!! Rice checks in off a 2-10 campain last year. The Longhorns have pounded the Owls by an average of 33 points and in the past 10 seasons have a 307 yd edge, that tells the tale. The Owls are a + 37 point dog by our exclusive "Jr O" power rating and the Longhorns will not let up in Week 1. The public will run up the line on the Horns, but the public is right here this week. Texas did lose a lot of weapons, but boys they JUST RELOAD! The Rice Owls will be stopped early and often by the Horns D, Our #5 rated D in the country !!
